The Poetry-on-Canvas Project

UMGF is in the process of launching its cultural Poetry-on-Canvas exhibition/festivity event tours in public parks/fairgrounds/university campuses, nationwide/overseas and in partnership with city parks departments and universities, over a 5-year promotional period that’s FREE to the general public. The Foundation has already applied for city park department permits and university approvals to convene its PoC events in major cities in 49 US states and Puerto Rico, Canada, UK, Japan, China, Jamaica, Trinidad, S/Africa, Euro Zone and Latin America, starting in the fall, 2008.

UMGF estimates that its cultural PoC events shall attract an average audience of 250,000 at each 30-day venue. The main attraction of the event is the exhibition of the Magnus Opus, Volume-One, comprising 3000 unpublished contemporary romantic/poetic letters composed by a single author. Magnus Opus will be accessible only at PoC events in public parks/university campuses. It will not be published in a book, and as a result, it can only be read at PoC events. PoC events are revenue-generating multicultural and multiethnic recreational activities that are planned to offer family-oriented recreation to the 14 – 65-year demographic whose attention advertisers have an interest in capturing. PoC intends to deliver this demographic to advertisers, 7 hours daily over 30-day periods, nationwide/overseas, under sustainable multiyear margin-sharing arrangements.

To recap, the PoC cultural activities include: 1) Magnus Opus: Volume-One – Exhibition of a literary masterpiece, consisting of 3000 unpublished poetic narrative that was never previously attempted in the history of contemporary poetic literature by a single author. The Magnus Opus volumes can only be read by literature-lovers at PoC events in public parks/university campuses, nationwide/overseas. 2) Arthur & Delilah play. 3) Real-time stone sculpturing. 4) Aspiring dance groups. 5) Aspiring opera performers. 6) Aspiring standup comics. 7) Fashion modeling. 8) Poetry reading. 9) Local aspiring musical artists/bands. 10) Celebrity artists/movie/TV actors and radio/sports personalities. More PoC Project Information:

The Poetry-on-Canvass cultural exhibition/festivity enterprise was created by United Metals Group, Guinea Telecom Group and UMG Foundation’s staff. The three entities are Delaware registered and co-sponsors of PoC. PoC is intended to satisfy four critical economic imperatives, namely:

1) Create culturally economic ways in which UMG could generate sustainable independent sources of revenues to support its moral imperative in funding poverty-reduction via humanitarian work in W/Africa/Caribbean where UMG has extensive commercial assets and business operations, apart from dependence on company donations. 2) Promote the performing, expressive and visual arts in public parks and university campuses interstate/overseas. 3) Provide aspiring artists/performers a national/global platform of FREE fresh, revolving exposure medium and substantial sustainable income sources. 4) Equally and concurrently provide all categories of regional/national/international advertisers from all sectors of commerce/industry, fresh, mobile and low-cost sustainable interstate ad medium/vehicles via PoC’s cultural humanitarian event tours.

That concept crystallized into the creation of the currently proposed PoC exhibition/festivity event tours, nationwide/overseas by UMGF, a non-profit entity formed and mandated by UMG/GTG to create and expedite ways in which funding for poverty-reduction infrastructure projects through specific humanitarian initiatives could be achieved. The PoC initiative evolved to reduce dependence on corporate donations from UMG, GTG and other sympathetic corporate donors. While satisfying a needed sustainable revenue-generating way in which the cultural arts and participating artists/performers/celebrities and advertisers could collectively and mutually benefit in any such enterprise. And make it become palatable to all sides involved in the collaborative humanitarian effort; thus the PoC’s exhibition/festivity tour events in parks/university campuses concept emerged.

The proposed PoC public park/fairground/university campus events are artistically integrated cultural 30-day exhibition/festivity tours, designed to attract and satisfy multicultural and multiethnic sensibilities at venues in 49 states/USA and Puerto Rico, Canada, UK, Japan, China, Jamaica, Trinidad, S/Africa, Euro Zone and Latin America. All PoC cultural events convened to generate humanitarian funds from corporate advertisers are FREE to the public, nationwide/overseas. PoC shall created sustainable corporate revenue sources and donations for UMGF; and invited aspiring/ celebrity artists, movie/TV stars and radio/sports personalities. While offering advertisers a fresh, efficient and low-cost ad medium/vehicle, capable of delivering sustainably higher multiyear ad retention rates and response rates then the traditional printed advertising vehicles/medium.

PoC offers the public FREE diverse multiyear and multifaceted cultural events, primarily comprising the exhibition of 3000 contemporary romantic/ poetic letters authored by a single writer, whose work will not be published in a book form; but rather, it can only be read at PoC’s selected public park/fairground/campus venues. The events shall showcase over 15 different categories of live musical performances, 7 hours (4:00 – 11:00 PM) daily for 30 consecutive days, annually, at each venue, over the next 5-year promotional period; introduce Arthur & Delilah play performances; dance company performances; new fashion displays; fashion modeling; standup comic performances; and also a host of movie/TV, radio and sports celebrities and personalities to attend to entertain its anticipated average venue audiences of 250,000 over each planned 30-day event tour.
